I have an indian casino to thank for getting me started in photography. I was a student at the College of Santa Fe and broke. Some friends of mine were headed to a 24-hour casino and I tagged along for the ride. After a couple hours of watching my buddies lose their shirts, I was approached by one of the drink servers. She pointed out to me that someone had left a token in one of the slots and slyly suggested that I play it. I did. After a couple pulls on the lever, I managed to win $190. I could have won more, but one of the fellas cashed me out before I lost it all. The next day, I walked over to the Camera Co-op and purchased a Pentax K-1000 with the original 50 mm lens. I’ve enjoyed photography ever since. I’ve captured weddings, family gatherings, vacations and the life’s quiet moments.
